Welcome to the Stich Exchange!
Kelly:
So My friend Angel and I were talking about books, sewing and all sorts of fun stuff when she tells me about this idea. Her friend is in this knitting group and they send care packages full of fun things to each other in the mail and then see what they can create out of them.
Angel:
I love making care packages and this is just an awesome way to share the fun sewing in a suprise-filled way! Let's spread the funky goodness!
So this is what we are all about. We take people with a love of sewing and a passion for meeting new people (like Angel and myself) and we match them up with like minded individuals. You are then set to the task of gathering random odds and ends and putting together a themed box. The box includes one sewing project, a letter to your new friend and a few random objects that go along with your theme. The point of the box is to spread creativity and friendship to people across the globe. For more information on the Boxes click "Whats in a Box?" above. Once the box is sent off you should eventually receive a box of your own. Once you've played with your new toys and read your letter your next task is to use your imagination and put together the project that has been sent to you. Sometimes you will be sent something simple that you just have to sew together and sometimes it will be something that teaches you new things. The point of this is to take the very simple instructions and make the project your own. The last thing is to take a picture and show us all what you came up with.
